QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess all valid licenses to drive a school bus.
- Such additional requirements as the Board may require.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Transportation
JOB GOAL:
Provide safe and efficient transportation for students on regular class schedules, as well as on trips for cocurricular activities and field trips.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Operate bus in a safe and efficient manner, and observe all mandatory safety regulations.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus, and report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects. Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops, and pick-up only authorized students at authorized pick-up stops.
- Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Effectively implement emergency procedures when required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of inspection standards required by Federal and State Highway Patrol and Department of Education and Board of Education policies and procedures.
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel. |
