QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB GOAL:
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep buildings and premises neat and clean at all times.
- Regulate heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity.
- Raises the United States flag before the opening of each school day, and lowers it at the close of each school day.
- Sweeps classrooms daily and dusts furniture.
- Cleans corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
- Scrubs, hoses down and disinfects toilet floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
- Lifts and moves furniture, trash cans, custodial equipment etc. as needed.
- Keeps the grounds free from debris.
- Reports repairs needed promptly, and reports immediately to the Principal any damage to school property.
- Assumes building security responsibility, and remains on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and their attendance is required by the principal.
- Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining before leaving that all doors and windows are secured and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off.
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel. |
