QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Four Year Degree in Early Childhood or related field, AA Degree with experience, High school diploma or above with five years of approved experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
REPORTS TO: Director of Parents as Teachers
JOB GOAL: To provide parents in both a home and group environment, training, information and assistance in early learning activities for their children, and preparation of the children for later success as they enter formal school programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make home visits to visit with, and consult with, parents to provide educational readiness activities at an appropriate stage for the child.
- Educate parents on developmental stages in childhood, and in the best methods at each stage to insure the most effective development of their child.
- Provide learning resources and materials, along with instruction in their use, for parent-conducted learning activities with their own
children.
- Conduct preliminary evaluation of physical, mental and social development of the children, and recommend to parents any appropriate screening, referrals or special services which might help assure the child’s fullest development.
- Provide group activities with opportunities for social interaction by both parents and children, and to encourage social develop social
development of children before entering formal educational programs.
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Board of Education or Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
