QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To insure that food of high nutritious quality is made available to each student in the district in an efficient and timely manner and safeguard the district’s investment in food supplies through efficient and effective warehousing practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assure that adequate staff, materials and supplies are on hand to efficiently and effectively provide cafeteria services.
- Screen applications and make recommendations for employment of food service personnel, both full-time and substitutes.
- Coordinate with head cooks in each cafeteria the continuing operations, menu preparation, food preparation, and serving.
- Maintain market data and records of commodities available and advise and recommend to food service personnel the highest
quality food servings at the most effective price.
- Supervise the overall safety and sanitation program in the school food service stations, and deliver all food supplies to stations so as
to maintain adequate supplies at all times.
- Maintain a district warehouse, providing for the effective and economic ordering, delivery and dispersion of food supplies.
- Make menus for all schools that are in compliance with School Needs Initiative for Healthy Children.
- Collect and check all time sheets and post and check all food service bills before they are turned into Central Office to be paid.
- Coordinate breakfasts, banquets and any other extras when food is to be provided.
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Board of Education or Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
