QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent and skills for the successful performance of the tasks assigned.
REPORTS TO: Designated Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide the necessary clerical assistance required for the administration of the school district in order to assure the smooth, efficient operation of the school office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as receptionist in answering the telephone and greeting visitors.
- Process and proofread correspondence.
- Organize and maintain a filing system.
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of educational reports and research documents.
- Operate office machinery.
- Perform necessary functions unique to the particular secretarial position for which employed, plus some of which are listed below:
- a) Process mail
- b) Coordinate communications, messages and memos between parent and child, and school and home.
- c) Coordinate accounts payable for their building
- d) Prepare all purchase orders for their building
- e) Maintain attendance records, and free and reduced lunch applications and approvals
1) make necessary deposit of all monies
- g) call substitute teachers
- Other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Schools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine, ten or twelve months, with salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
